Cataract Philadelphia Reviews

Alex O.

Dr Lewis was my 2nd opinion. I had a cataract in my right eye due to trauma. Not only did he fix my cataract, but he highlighted how bad my left eye was! And THAT one was the “good” one! The staff here are all super friendly. Hi Shana! The Dr. and his whole staff are what gave me the confidence to proceed. You sit in the chair for 5 minutes; no pain, and i can see ships coming in from Europe now! You will not be let down.

Earl S.

The professionalism, efficiency, and caring of Dr. Lewis, Dr. Sherman, the rest of his professional staff, and his entire support staff were self-evident from the moment that I walked in the door. My wait was minimal. The waiting area was very pleasant and all of the examination rooms were immaculate with extensive up to date instrumentation. I was not rushed, everything was carefully explained to me, and all of the explanations and answers to my answers were very comprehensive and understandable.
Dr. Lewis was quickly able to pinpoint my problem and provide me with the proper treatment. You cannot do any better than Dr. Lewis, his staff, and his office.

Wendy G.

I am delighted that my eye care professional recommended Dr. Lewis for cataract surgery. Dr. Lewis and his staff are friendly and highly competent. Dr. Lewis worked closely with the referring professional in a truly collaborative way. After cataract surgery, there is only one eye drop twice per day! The correction to my vision is outstanding, and well worth the price for a special set of lenses. I received a DVD of my actual surgeries, so I could more fully understand the process. I feel so lucky to be able to have such expert care! I learned that the electronic medical record system was designed by Dr. Lewis, and all information about each patient is available to the team on one page!

I had cataract surgeries in late 2018. I knew him to be an excellent surgeon for many years, providing care for patients I referred to him. However, I barely knew him personally. Now I can say that he is a superior clinician, the one thing I can judge. He stays on top of the literature and is constantly working at improving his game. Moreover he and his staff are not just professional and knowledgeable, they are kind. My own surgeries were successful with no pain. He handled a moment of last minute jitters with kind humor. I continue to recommend him.

For years, I have been fighting getting cataract surgery. My brother-in-law just had his surgery done by Dr. Lewis and raved about how good he is. Upon his recommendation, I too had my cataract surgery done. Everything that my brother-in-law said was true and then some. He is an exceptional doctor. If I was to rate him, it would be above five stars. When it came time for the surgery, a limousine picked me up. Everyone and everything was professional. Not only was his staff professional but they showed a caring attitude about each patient.
Unfortunately, my husband had cataract surgery in another state under a different ophthalmologist. It has been almost a year after his cataract surgery and his eves still hurt and he suffered from cloudy vision. When I explained the situation to Dr. Lewis and the fact that he could not get an appointment with him until March ( Dr. Lewis stays booked up), he said for me to bring him in when I had my appointment and he would look at his eyes. I did as he said and Dr. Lewis and two of his associates looked at my husband’s eyes. They determined that there needed to be a change in his medications. My husband did as instructed and his eyes immediately cleared up. The day that Dr. Lewis and his associates examined my husband’s eyes, the computer was not working so there was no way for his staff to take down my husband’s insurance information to file for the many tests that he ran. He trusted us. From the bottom of my heart, I will always remember his kindness, his caring attitude, and his skill as an A+ opthamologist.

About twenty years ago, Dr. Lewis performed cataract surgery for my husband. I accompanied my husband to all appointments and was quite impressed with Dr. Lewis’ professionalism, confidence and caring. I took careful note in case I ever needed the services of an eye surgeon. Fast forward all those years and Dr. Lewis performed cataract surgery for me this month. From his office staff, through the staff at the surgical center to his fellow doctors, to Dr. Lewis himself this was the single most pleasant health-related experience I have ever had. I was never rushed in an office visit. Everyone dealt with my questions with patience and good humor. Dr. Lewis delivered exactly what he expected: almost infinitely better vision post-surgery. Minor issues were handled with clarity and calm. All options were explained completely, my hopes were queried and honored and everyone had a great sense of humor. Five stars is not a high enough rating. This is a practice and a surgeon you can trust with your eyesight.

The doctors and staff treat their patients like they are members of their own families. I feel like they really cared. Because of them I can now see better than ever before in my life!

In January 2017 I had cataracts in both eyes removed. I want to thank Dr Lewis and Dr Devlin for the outstanding results and excellent care I received.

Dr Devlin provided me with a detailed explanation of the procedure in addition to a thorough description of what I could expect to occur throughout my recovery. I didn’t even have to worry about transportation, as van service to and from the surgical facility was available for a nominal cost.

Prior to surgery I wore Monovision contact lenses and wore glasses for night driving. Dr Lewis was able to implant Monovision lenses, which means I can continue to just wear glasses for night driving with no glare issues.

The procedures were a breeze. I experienced no pain or discomfort whatsoever. I used my prescribed eye drops, followed all post-operative instructions and kept all of my appointments – all of which I believe were key to my excellent results.

I will be recommending Dr Lewis and Dr Devlin to friends and family that may need cataract surgery. My vision is better now than it was twenty years ago all thanks to Dr Lewis and Dr Devlin.

I was referred to Dr. Lewis by EYE OPTIONS . I had gone to them for a routine check-up & to get new glasses . During their testing procedure they discovered cataracts in both of my eyes . They suggested I see Dr. Lewis as soon as possible to get further testing done & to confirm the cataracts & their severity . I was very concerned because I had never had a problem with my eyesight . Upon meeting with Dr. Lewis for the first time , any & all concerns & anxiety WERE GONE. What a great guy … & … an even better eye doctor . He recommended cataract surgery .. but .. said I could hold off for awhile ; that I probably wouldn’t see any significant change in my vision for about six(6) months . In ” exactly ” six(6) months my vision changed . I could no longer look at oncoming car headlights without squinting or turning away . Dr. Lewis performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes … one(1) week apart . I’m not trying to be overly dramatic here … but … the immediate change was UNBELIEVABLE . I couldn’t believe the quality of my sight after one(1) day . It was truly remarkable . I have a number of family & friends who have had cataract surgery & none of them have had the results that I’ve had . Dr. Lewis is absolutely , positively ” THE BEST ” . I couldn’t recommend a finer eye surgeon … or … an all-around nicer guy . His staff is fantastic .. & .. when you make an appointment ” they actually get you in on time ” . Tell me another doctor that does that . My experience with Dr. Lewis & his staff has been ” a real eye opener ” ( no pun intended ) . If you’re looking for quality , service , experience & state-of-the-art technical/medical skills you should definitely check out Dr. Lewis . I guarantee ” you won’t be disappointed

Absolutely a fantastic experience . The staff is super ; polite , courteous , knowledgeable , helpful , accommodating & friendly . Dr. Lewis & Dr. Devlin are two(2) of the nicest ” people ” you’ll ever want to meet ; let alone being phenomenal eye doctors / ophthalmologists . I had cataracts removed one(1) week apart . The procedure was quick ( 8-10 minutes ) , easy , painless, stress free … & … unbelievably successful . My vision is better now than it’s ever been … seriously . I don’t need glasses .. even to read . I never expected ( in a million years ) for the quality & clarity of my vision to be what it is today . I , like a lot of people , don’t like to go to doctors , for a variety of reasons … but … I gotta tell ya , I’m gonna miss going to Dr. Lewis & Dr. Devlin’s office . They’re just great guys … & … they’ve surrounded themselves with great people . I can understand why their training & educating of new ophthalmologists is so successful . If you’ve ever considered cataract surgery ( or any other eye procedure ) you owe it to yourself to check out Dr. Lewis & Dr. Devlin . Their brand of medicine is ” just what the doctor ordered ” .

Dr, Lewis did my cataract surgeries with Panoptic lenses. I am extremely happy with the results and am now glasses-free after 64 years. My impression immediately before and during the surgery is one of his complete competence. I would strongly recommend him to others who need this surgery.

The entire experience of cataract surgery by Dr. Lewis was exemplary. My vision is enormously improved. I wish I’d done it sooner. I was paying and Dr. Lewis made the total cost clear and reasonable. No surprises.

Thank God for skilled surgeons like Dr. Lewis. My wife and I experienced incredible results after our cataract surgery. His entire staff were polite and helpful. Dr.Lewis even improved the sight in my left eye despite an old injury to the retina. Immediate post surgery requirements went smoothly . Thank you to Dr.Lewis for making me useful again and being able to enjoy many more beautiful sunrises.

My experience with cataract surgery by Dr. Lewis was excellent. The practice is well managed and efficient. Waiting times in the office for examinations are short. Everything was made quite clear to me by Dr. Lewis regarding what to expect. My case was difficult due to previous Radial Keratotomy surgery and astigmatism in both eyes. The surgery was very efficient and also totally effective and exceeded my expectations. I can see at distances without glasses and also read without glasses. Grade A++

I could not have had a better experience.I had been wearing glasses for 70 years with a major correction. Following two recent cataract surgeries, I have near perfect vision for the first time in my life. Dr. Lewis and Dr. Devlin epitomize what a physician should be- highly competent and totally decent people. Thank you for improving the quality of my life.

Dr. Lewis and his staff are without question the most dedicated and professional group of physicians I have ever encountered. I had challenging issues with the anatomy of each eye and my goals after cataract surgery. The length to which everyone in the practice went to make sure every variable was considered was unlike any other experience, they are passionate about what they do. I am 100% satisfied with the result of the surgery, I have my near vision back and that is life changing.

Thank you Dr. Lewis.

Avid D.

Awesome treatment. Everyone in the office is friendly and helpful, not the typical experience. State of the art treatment including “NO” drops with cataract surgery. None prior and none afterwards – NONE! Van pickup and delivery service to and from the surgery center. Go there you will be pleased.

In this case, a young patient without evidence of desiccation or inflammation had persistent physical symptoms. Biomicroscopy revealed clear lid margins, no conjunctival injection, and no corneal epitheliopathy. Meibography (imaging the meibomian glands) provides insight into the cause.
